Boy, you've got impressive cheekbones, have you thought about a career in modelling?
ReplyDeleteOh hush, troublemaker!
DeleteI never have liked grapefruit. But you you've made me curious enough to take another sniff!
ReplyDeleteI'll mention it to my mum, Linda. She'll be delighted!
DeleteHari Om
ReplyDeleteThis is too uncanny Indigo - my post for Sunday is also a reminisce on 'mother'. Mine too persuaded me grapefruits were wondernuggets. I'd give anything to have one now. Can't get 'em here. But we do have mosambi. Yummy sweet limes.
Just thought I'd offer an alternative for you... good to see you back in the blog-seat. 8~>
Namaste Yamini!
DeleteI've not been over to your blog, I must take a look! See you there tomorrow, I hope =) And thank you, mosambi sound great! Indigo
I.LOVE.GRAPEFRUIT!!
ReplyDeleteChrissy, you are a wise and ravishing woman!
DeleteFab!
ReplyDeleteCheers buddy!
DeleteLoved this one, Indigo. Well written and made me smile. x
ReplyDeleteJack, you are a gent, and no mistake. Indigo
DeleteI like the pink and the red ones, which are sweeter. Your mother was wise to say grapefruits are "nice" rather than "good for you," yes?
ReplyDeleteHey Nancy! Oh my, yes; I do not take direction well. Rebellious Brit genes, see? Apologies for the slow reply, I've been tied up in the cellar with just daily deliveries from Domino's for company. Indigo x
DeleteI love grapefruit. Alas, my current med cocktail won't allow me to eat them. I fear I am doomed once again to live vicariously through the pursed lips of others more fortunate.
ReplyDeleteHey Paula! I am honoured to be the centre of such a voyeuristic activity! Game on! Roth x
DeleteFor less squinting of the eye, I suggest sunglasses. Wearing them at the breakfast table also gives you that morning after/rock star look. Chicks dig it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very sweet memory of your mother. And she's right. They are nice.
Hey Nicky! How's Montreal's finest footwear aficionado? ALways a pleasure. And yes, tho it pains me to admit it, right as ever. Roth x
DeleteI love your description of Yavin at the table eating his grapefruit!
ReplyDeleteHey Jenn! Thank you, it was uncharacteristically adorable of him; he's so stoic normally. Still, we're all a little off-kilter first thing in the morning, right? Indigo x
Deletelovely sense memory you've shared, sweet pea! ;~) xoxoxox
ReplyDeleteThanks Savannah! Hope all's well in Georgia, I'll pop by soon! Indigo
DeleteA lovely memory you share here. While I dislike the color pink, I do love pink grapefruit. I suspect they all taste about the same, but I imagine the pink ones to be a bit sweeter.
ReplyDeleteHey Linda! D'you know, I think you're right. Or is that blood-red grapefruit? I'm so forgetful these days. I likes 'em, whatever they are! Indigo
DeleteI'd have got that grapefruit to fly if it wasn't for your pesky 4-year old self....
ReplyDeleteHey Max! Being buzzed by a grapefruit would make for easier swatting than a house-fly. Unless you put the warp nacelles on it? Hmmm. Damn. Now I've given you ideas. Roth
DeleteHow funny, as in coincidental, but also ha-ha. My mother liked grapefruit and I just found it painful. This week you wrote about your mom and so did I. And yes, they were usually right, although I never did acquire a taste for grapefruit.
ReplyDeleteHey Jayne! I've been hiding under a rock and missed your mom entry; I will hunt it down, Red! Yours are always a treat... GO READ JAYNE, EVERYONE! Indigo x
DeleteIndigo, I've said it many times by now, but I still mean it: You are a clever writer, my friend. I enjoyed the way you turned something as mundane as breakfast into something whimsical and strange.
ReplyDeleteHey KZ! Thanks man. But hey, food is never mundane! Tho having Max around does add a certain "danger money" aspect to any scene, it's true. And you can never have too many badgers about. Weasels and ferrets? Not so much. Roth
DeleteI don't think I've ever had a grapefruit.. I might have tasted a piece once, if I remember correctly, but I don't remember if I found it nice or not. Another lovely post, Indigo, a treat to read. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Ziva! Well, you should give it a go, my Finnish friend. Apparently, they're nice! And thank you x Roth
DeleteGrapefruit is delicious! Especially if you drizzle some honey ontop!
ReplyDeleteHey Mia! I've never been a honey fan, but a sprinkle of soft brown sugar can take the edge off a really sharp one. Hope you're well honey, I do worry despite my prolonged absences. Indigo x
